from 2019 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 394775490
This project examines the practices of directing and sharpening attention in the early modern 'playhouse' through the use of mirrors. Mirrors, whether used as mediums, props or tropes, become meaningful figures and are instruments for social practices such as observance of the self and of others, control of norms and surveillance. The uses and functions of mirrors will be examined under the concept of politique.
