Project Details
RNA regulatory mechanisms in cardiac metabolism (B07)
Subject Area
Cardiology, Angiology
Term
from 2019 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 403584255
We have demonstrated in mouse models a requirement for enhancer-templated RNAs (eRNAs) in cardiac cardiac hypertrophy and heart failure. The proposed project builds on this observation and aims to assess the pathophysiologic relevance of specific functionally validated eRNAs in human disease models (iPS-derived cardiac organoids) and test the therapeutic manipulation of these molecules in mouse models of heart disease. The overarching goal of this project is to identify clinically-relevant eRNA targets for the treatment of human heart disease.
