The aim of the project is the digitisation and digital presentation of 127 medieval manuscripts from the University and State Library of Saxony-Anhalt’s holdings, for which scientific catalogue descriptions are already available: the western, predominantly Latin manuscripts of the former Stifts- und Gymnasialbibliothek Quedlinburg and the ULB manuscripts in German and Dutch. Furthermore, the descriptions of the German manuscripts, which have not yet been included in Manuscripta Mediaevalia, are to be integrated using MXML, so that they can be integrated into the new manuscript portal at a later point. In addition, a formal indexing of the manuscripts in the GBV - so far a desideratum - is an integral part of the digitisation workflow. The ULB Saxony-Anhalt plans to gain new competences within the frame of this project, which can then be applied to future manuscript catalogisation and digitization projects.
