Noncommutative Ergodic Theory

Classical ergodic theorems deal with convergence of means of semigroup and group representations on classical Lp-spaces. Maximal functions form a central tool. Via square function estimates, these are intimately linked to the boundedness of certain functional calculi. The aim of this project is to generalize this theory to so-called non-commutative Lp-spaces.
