Avidity-driven assembly and properties of cargo in selective autophagy (F01 (D01))
Subject Area

Term
since 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 259130777
This project builds upon the original observation that surface mobility is key for the assembly of the autophagy machinery and autophagosome biogenesis. Autophagic cargoes can be either rigid or fluid. The working hypothesis is that mobility at their surface is required for the cargo-receptor complexes to rearrange. This project will focus on the physical properties (fluidity and rigidity) of selective cargo and their influence on engulfment and degradation.
