Final Report Abstract
The ZBW is a central information infrastructure institution for economics. It fulfils a supraregional supply mandate for economic literature. As part of a DFG-funded project in the area of "Scientific Literature Supply and Information Systems" (LIS), economic e-books from Edward Elgar Publishing (EE Publishing) were made available as an alliance licence with national archive extension for the EE Collection in Business & Management, Economics and Finance 2016 - 2022 in the reporting period 2020 to 2022. EE Publishing is a leading international academic publisher with a focus on law and social sciences, especially economics. Elgar Publishing has received several awards for its publishing activities (including Independent Publisher of the Year 2017 and 2022); individual publications of the publishing house have also repeatedly received industry awards. An opt-in consortium for licensing current content (front list titles) is based on the DFG- funded national archive licence for content from 2016 to 2022. Part of this licence is a moving wall component which, with a delay of three years in each case, leads to the gradual extension of the national archive licence. In this way, after the embargo period has expired, all titles from the EE Collection in Business & Management, Economics and Finance 2016 - 2022 will be available online free of charge to all interested economic institutions. After expiry of the DFG funding, the ZBW has agreed a cost-neutral continuation of the consortium licence in cooperation with EE Publishing, which also includes the provision of an archive component. In this way, the ZBW can ensure the long-term supply of economic publications from EE Publishing.
