Continuous synthesis and structure formation for coloured particles (A01)

Subject Area Mechanical Process Engineering
Term since 2020
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 416229255

Project Description

The objective of A01 is to expand the focus on the process design of predictive, scalable syntheses of nanoparticles in tailored continuous flow reactors to more complex particle systems with tailored optical properties. We will establish the predictive, continuous synthesis of Au/Ag alloy nanoparticles, tailor the surface functionality via ligand exchange and directly use the prepared nanoparticles to form defined colloidal assemblies with controlled numbers of constituent primary particles. Both the synthesis and the self-assembly step will be coupled to chromatographic separation to classify the synthesised, size-dispersed nanoparticles and colloidal assemblies into highly uniform fractions with well-defined optical properties.
