Final Report Abstract
By increasing knowledge about the willingness and capacity for European integration in specific policy areas, the EUINACTION project sought to explain and facilitate representative and effective policy reforms. Our interdisciplinary research team analysed public opinion surveys, party manifestos, speech data from the European and national parliaments and EU legislative texts using machine learning. The project findings add to a better understanding of institutional responsiveness to the demands of the public and various stakeholders and inform recommendations for policy and institutional innovations in the EU that have public acceptance to address pressing challenges such as economic, refugee, or security crises.
