Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse
The realisation of a quantum interface between photons and spins is essential for quantum computing and communications. Colour centres in diamond are one of the most promising platforms for realising such an interface. However, most results have been reported using nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centres in diamond. These colour centres have drawbacks in terms of their efficiency as elements of quantum memory. More recently, group IV colour centres have emerged as a novel and highly promising platform for solid-state quantum optics. These colour centres combine strong optical transitions and high spectral stability. The main goal of the project was to explore group IV colour centres as elements of quantum memory for flying qubits and to realise hybrid quantum registers based on electron and nuclear spins.
