The University of Bonn has an excellent reputation in Plant Science at the Faculty of Agriculture and the Mathematics and Science Faculty. The interfaculty interests in plant science at the University of Bonn include basic but also applied agricultural aspects with a strong focus on molecular plant science. To perform cutting-edge research in the area of plant science working with the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana but also with crop plants such as maize, barley, wheat, rice, sugar beet, potato and tomato requires precise and reproducible growth conditions in plant climate chambers by strictly regulating temperature, humidity, air circulation, light intensity and light quality. These parameters must fulfill the highest standards of consistency and homogeneity. Such growth conditions are at the moment not available at the University of Bonn. To enable such growth conditions and remain internationally competitive, we apply for 12 walk-in growth chambers.
