Project Details
Magnetic noise of magnetoelectric sensors (A10)
Subject Area
Synthesis and Properties of Functional Materials
Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 286471992
Understanding magnetic noise in magnetoelectric sensors is crucial for achieving low detection limits. The performance limits due to magnetic noise are not yet understood. We aim to identify and quantify the different types of magnetic noise occurring in magnetoelectric sensors and to utilize this knowledge for sensor improvement. Experimental methods will be coupled with analytical and numerical models, which is essential to transfer the noise knowledge from the micro- to the sensor scale. Material and sensor design will be investigated both experimentally as well as by simulations, to identify the limits of feasibility.
