The project conducts comparative research in Germany and China on how practices of disposing of and care of things change when they are not (or no longer) owned by the users. Based on the results of the first funding phase in the previous projects C01 and C06, which the proposed project brings together, forms of leasing, the sharing economy and cooperatives as alternatives to private property will be examined qualitatively and empirically with regard to their cultural and institutional contextual conditions, their practical meaning structure, and their social dynamics.
