We have shown that cDC1 and cDC2 dendric cells are rapidly lost upon induction of metaflammation in the bone marrow and subcutaneous white adipose tissue (scWAT), but not visceral WAT (vWAT). To investigate the underlying mechanisms, we will analyze the role of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) signalling, which is key in regulating inflammatory amplitude in the adipose tissue, for DC subset survival, proliferation, and function within their respective cellular neighbourhoods during homeostasis and diet-induced metaflammation.
