Final Report Abstract

The project has developed a framework for analyzing the use of large interactive wall screens in the wild – from experience reports on design and construction to open-source toolsets. These allow a parallel analysis of interaction and observation data and create new possibilities to investigate the use of wall screens in long-term deployments in a semi-automated manner and to filter and visualize extensive sensor-based data sets regarding interesting patterns. The use of this framework with respect to honeypot and novelty effects shows that the custom development of methods and tools for analyzing body tracking data has made it much easier to identify potential situations for more detailed investigation. It is also possible to make quantitative estimates of how often honeypot and other effects occur and how their frequency changes over months and years.
