Project Details
Control of the Aggregation Behaviour of N-Heteropolycycles (C08*)
Subject Area
Physical Chemistry of Molecules, Liquids and Interfaces, Biophysical Chemistry
Term
from 2021 to 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 281029004
Studies on the aggregation behaviour of N-heteropolycycles are central to this project. Comparative studies on the aggregation-induced emission of potent molecules will be carried out with the aim to generate a better understanding of underlying processes. This includes quantification of the emission efficiency and in particular isolation of aggregates of various size and crystallinity with the aim to decouple solvatochromic and morphochromic effects in both colloidal dispersion and thin films. In addition, unsubstituted, insoluble N-heterpolycycles will be solubilised to enable optical characterisation of basic building blocks.
