Final Report Abstract
The highly strained, multibridged natural product aleutianamine was reported in 2019 and displays potent and selective activity against pancreatic cancer cell lines (PANC-1, IC50 = 25 nM). Two distinct synthetic approaches towards this alkaloid were investigated. While the envisioned key intermediate for the first synthetic strategy remained elusive, significant progress was achieved regarding the second approach. The pentacyclic core structure of the natural product was synthesized with an evident path forward to access the target alkaloid.
