The subproject consists of two work areas. The AB 1 ‘The Vulgar in the Early Modern Period’ is operated by the PI and deals with the phenomenon of the vulgar under stylistic signatures in the Early Modern Period. AB 2 entitled ‘Popularity and Vulgarity around 1800’ is being worked on by a PhD student and focuses on the differentiation of the popular and the vulgar in the decades around 1800.
