This project aims at systematically evaluating and exploiting the information content of intensity correlations in x-ray diffraction imaging. Classical x-ray diffraction experiments only use averaged intensity measurements, and correlations are typically caused by nuisance effects such as partial coherence or sample motion. New rapid readout detection technology and ultra-short x-ray pulses provide additional information, e.g.\ on sample motion and allow for new imaging setups and new reconstruction methodologies based on intensity correlations.
