Project Details
Load-bearing behaviour of cyclically loaded foundations of megastructures (B04)
Subject Area
Geotechnics, Hydraulic Engineering
Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 434502799
The subproject B04 is intended to investigate the load-bearing behaviour of cyclically loaded foundations and its change over the lifetime. This will be done experimentally in the laboratory and with model tests as well as numerically. The focus of this subproject will be on the understanding and realistic description of the load-bearing behaviour of cyclically loaded foundations of megastructures. A methodology is to be investigated that enables to take results of cyclic laboratory tests into account when calculating the system behaviour. Thus, it shall be able to record the load-bearing behaviour that changes over the lifetime. Moreover, it is planned to investigate scaling effects of the model tests, especially in possible later funding periods, by additional large-scale tests.
