3D Laser Scanning Vibrometer to measure the three-dimensional dynamic response of structures in the high-frequency range:Laser Scanning Vibrometry enables non-contact measurement of displacement- and velocity amplitudes of structural surfaces vibrating in the high-frequency range (up to 1MHz). The 3D Laser Scanning Vibrometer tracks the three-dimensional vibration amplitudes of a structure with any complex geometry. An alternative technology for such measurements does not exist. The working groups at TUHH use the instrumentation in fundamental research to develop and validate acoustic methods for Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). These acoustic SHM-methods are applicable to a wide range of materials and length scales. The instrumentation offers the necessary and desired flexibility regarding surface property and measuring distance. The latter directly defines the mesh density on the structural surface.Fields of application of the instrumentation reach from structural engineering (e.g. bridges) to MEMS-samples with side lengths of less than one millimeter in microsystems technology and medical engineering. Furthermore, the 3D Laser Scanning Vibrometer is a powerful tool to validate dynamic FE analyses and complements the DFG-funded Hexapod at TUHH.
