Metal-Cutting and Abrasive Manufacturing Engineering
Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 426335750
This subproject covers in an exemplary manner the entire process from detection of implant failure to individualized technical regeneration. For the first time, a comprehensive digital implant lifecycle management (DILM) system will be set up. Based on the DILM architecture established in the first funding period, patient-specific data from various implant systems will be integrated to enhance personalized implant care via data-driven prediction models. Using the example of total knee arthroplasty, research will focus on methods for reproducible, non-invasive condition-based evaluation of implant components in the digital twin, radiological wear marker detection, and automated revision path planning.
