Project Details
Regulation of synaptic functional heterogeneity and diversity (A11)
Subject Area
Molecular Biology and Physiology of Neurons and Glial Cells
Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 317475864
Aiming to identify molecular principles that confer synaptic diversity and heterogeneity, we used the previous funding period to map the protein organization in presynaptic sub-compartments, including the active zone and the synaptic vesicle membrane. Based on these findings, we will refine the presynaptic proximity map, and to test the hypothesis that the function and expression of key signalling proteins shapes synaptic transmission properties.
