Adhering to the conception of interaction as interpersonal behavioral patterns, the focus of Project A02 is on the process of understanding. Bringing together expertise from areas concerned with multimodality, this project’s approach is to identify different levels of (non)understanding and thus to contribute to the implementation of a close monitoring process. This implementation will yield a system that is able to utilize the richness of multimodal exchange in order to scaffold the user’s understanding within an explaining process.
