This is a follow-up proposal that sets new goals that have resulted from the knowledge gained from our previous work in the project. Today we have to assume that the former endorheic Baza-Guadix basin can no longer be considered as one unit, but that the whole basin is divided into two different sub-basins. An east and a west basin, with in each case temporally very far (about 200ka) seperated capture times. This resulted in completely different geomorphodynamics in the respective basins, which we must account for in the follow-on application. The objectives of the original application still hold. In addition, new questions arise due to the knowledge gained from the first project phase, so that the project strategy had to be realigned. The objectives of the supplementary application presented here are to address the following list of questions. Question 1: How do the two basins behave with respect to the stepwise tapping? Question 2: What are the different erosional dynamics in the sub-basins due to their position with respect to the erosion base and in what time periods did they take place?, and can the different times of tapping of the respective basins be determined more precisely? Question 3: To what extent do new heavy mineral analyses in the terrace levels of the Guadalquivir permit a more precise delineation of the first capture/tapping date? Our new findings with respect to tectonic faults necessitate a change in perspective. In addition, our finding is an important building block for neotectonic analysis. Question 4: Can neotectonic processes be qualitatively and quantitatively approximated on the basis of terrace stratigraphic terrain mapping? Question 5: To what extent is it possible to stratigraphically correlate terrace levels in the different sub-basins? Question 6: How are the surface generations to be interpreted geodynamically? What triggers sheet erosion, what linear incision in our project zones? These are essentially the new questions that have emerged as a result of the knowledge gained. Our goal is to approach these questions through appropriate work steps.
