The INM Leibniz Institute for New Materials strives to make its publicly funded publication results freely accessible and to systematically record and make transparent the associated publication costs. Publication costs at the INM are incurred decentrally in the individual groups and centrally through the financing of transformation contracts. Transformation contracts are a key factor in the development of the number of OA publications and the development of publication costs at the INM. In the first funding phase of the Open Access Publication Costs 2022-2024 project, organizational measures were developed and implemented between financial accounting and the library to clearly identify and account for decentralized OA publication costs and other publication costs. In the second funding phase, a technical system environment is to be created that allows each bibliographic publication data record to be assigned its complete cost components. In addition, a system environment is to be created that allows the development of subscription cost components and publication cost components to be analyzed.
