Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 327886311
The present project aims at a fundamental understanding of the impact of in liquid plasma formed by contact glow discharge electrolysis (i) on the electrolyte (thermal effects, voltage drops, and electrolyte composition) (ii) on the plasma working electrode (stability and onset of structure formation processes), and (iii) ultimately the synergistic effects between the temporal changes at the electrode and the electrolyte. New tools will be developed to identify changes in the electrolyte under operando conditions. The properties at the solid | plasma interfaces are studied employing metal single crystal electrodes, which allow for a direct and reliable connection between our experimental and theoretical approach.
