In this project, data from the Auger Observatory and LHCb will be used to better quantify hadronic interactions at the highest energies and in forward direction. With the help of an LHC-internal gas target (SMOG), fixed-target experiments will be performed. With LHCb itself, measurements can be made at high rapidities, i.e., in the far forward direction, which is relevant for astrophysical processes. The results will be compared with models of hadronic interactions and atmospheric showers measured with Auger. The goal is to provide an improved description of gamma-ray, neutrino, and cosmic-ray particle production at the highest energies.
