Project Details
Dynamic and spatiotemporal control of Notch signaling for assembling precise multicellular structures (A14*)
Subject Area

Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 386797833
The assembly of new tissues from the bottom-up starting from single cells is a powerful approach to tissue engineering. Here, we will develop a light controlled version of the Notch signaling, named optoNotch, for building multicellular structures, dynamically control contact dependent cell to cell signaling with high precision in space and time and investigate the interplay with cell-cell adhesions. This will pave the way to rationally program cell signaling pathways that direct the formation of desired multicellular architectures.
