Characterization of roles of PRL-CDC5 complex in regulation of pre-mRNA splicing and flowering time

Subject Area Plant Cell and Developmental Biology
Term from 2007 to 2011
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 49988130

Interaction of CDC5 Myb factors with PRL-type WD-40 proteins is required for Spliceosome assembly and activation in eukaryotes. Our data show that prll and cdc5 mutations cause similar simultaneous changes in the regulation of multiple developmental and signaling pathways including the control of flowering time. The proposed studies aim at the characterization of causal relationships between defects in pre-mRNA splicing, transcription control and alterations in the regulation of flowering time and flower development caused by the prll and cdc5 mutations, as well as the identification of PRL/CDC5 cross-linked pre-mRNA and CDC5 Myb-bound chromatin targets.
