In popular speech acts of the consumer the interpenetration of the archaic and the modern are determined. The relationship between body, gender and sexuality discourse perspectives the connection between gender difference and corpo populare. As central popular forms and media of processing the popular, cinema and television show the tension between the mass medium, cultural criticism and the non-popular.
