Project Details
Neurovascular signals controlling CNS barrier homeostasis in response to damage (B02)
Subject Area
Human Genetics
Term
since 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 456687919
The vasculature in the central nervous system (CNS) ensures the selective transport of blood-borne substances to the brain parenchyma through the so-called blood-CNS barriers. Following damage, the tightness of the barrier is decreased, adversely affecting neuronal function. We will investigate the role of Fibronectin Leucine-rich Repeat Transmembrane (FLRT) protein signalling in mechanisms of revascularisation and barrier repair in disease models of retinopathies and stroke.
