The long-term project “Edition des ugaritischen poetischen Textkorpus” (EUPT) aims at creating the first complete, freely accessible online edition of all known Ugaritic poetic texts. The tablets are being autographed; the texts are being transliterated, vocalized, morphosyntactically analyzed, translated, commented on, and annotated poetologically. The proposed interpretation is substantiated and alternatives are discussed. — A key focus is on poetological analysis, namely verse structure, stylistics, and motifs. The poetic forms and the phrasing are systematically explored and made accessible as an integral part of the online edition. — EUPT is dedicated to advancing German and European Ugaritic studies and strengthening global collaboration: EUPT is supported by an international advisory board and collaborates closely with the Chicago-based Ugarit project “Ras Shamra Tablet Inventory” (RSTI). — The Göttingen State and University Library is developing an innovative editing platform that allows texts to be annotated from various perspectives. Edition and poetological analysis are displayed on the EUPT website and linked to digital tools that enable complex search queries. The newly developed software has the potential to be used in related editorial projects.
