Project Details
High-throughput hyperpolarization (B02)
Subject Area
Analytical Chemistry
Term

Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 454252029
This proposal explores three strategies to increase the throughput of dissolution-based hyperpolarization methodologies by up to two orders of magnitude. The first strategy explores Pulsed DNP at temperatures from 1.5 to 100 K using a pulsed 100 W 95 GHz Klystron amplifier. The second high-risk/high-gain strategy uses freely rotating methyl groups (which exhibit a rotational splitting equal to that of a free electron spin at approximately 4 Tesla) as a source for hyperpolarization. The third strategy uses the recently emerged photo-radicals as a source of hyperpolarization.
