The DFG-funded annotated hybrid edition of the correspondence between Gottfried Benn and his daughter Nele Poul Sørensen, divorced Topsøe, née Benn, has been in progress since 2022. Unexpected finds of material, especially among the children and grandchildren of the two in Copenhagen, have increased the size of the edition from the original 230 letters to 315. In addition, there are numerous newspaper articles that were originally enclosed with Benn's letters but only rediscovered after we began our work. Finally, extensive new documents relating to the daughter's life are also presented in the digital edition. Some examples of this are a report on her journey as a military correspondent, which she undertook in 1946 in search of her father in destroyed Berlin, newspaper articles about her as a highly successful journalist in Denmark and obituaries in the Danish press after her death. Due to the increase in volume, the task cannot be completed in the allotted time. The planned publication dates for the book version in the Wallstein and Klett-Cotta publishing houses and the subsequent publication on the Edview edition portal in the German Literature Archive Marbach 24 months later will nevertheless be adhered to. This can be achieved by postponing the processing of those materials that are only intended for the extended digital version to the aforementioned waiting period. Further tasks arise from the fact that a Danish version of the edition is now planned.
