Deformations of p-adic Galois representations associated to automorphic forms have provided a key tool in tackling problems in algebraic number theory and specifically Iwasawa theory. Recently, a new construction of such deformations has been introduced by intertwining certain p-adic towers of Shimura varieties with p-adic deformations of principal series representations. We aim to further advance the general theory by investigating the case of other Shimura varieties (i.e. beyond the case of Hilbert modular varieties) as well as try to find application in Iwasawa theory (e.g. comparison of L-invariants or the construction of p-adic deformations of Eisenstein symbols and cycles classes attached to special subvarieties).
