This research project deals with the enhancements of a developed life-cicle- and adaption-model for Regional Governance. The following leading questions are in focus: 1. How can the reasons for regional phase-changes be analysed in more detail concerning various levels of governance and socio-economic circumstances and developments? 2. How do phase-changes in regional cooperations impact on the regional economy and how does this depend on regional factors and attitudes? 3. How can regions be classified in a praxis-oriented perspective and which practical consequences can be drawn for the development of regional cooperations? Based on an extended and updated data-bank of regional cooperations and further regional statistical data firstly cause and effect analyses will be carried out. Furthermore the state policies will be analyzed. Following 6 case-studies will be analyzed by aquestionairre-based survey and deepening expert interviews. A final workshop with actors from science and practice is rounding the research project.
