Deciphering the principles of neuroblastoma metastasis to the bone marrow by integrated single-cell and spatial multi-omics (C03)

Subject Area Hematology, Oncology
General Genetics and Functional Genome Biology
Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine
Term since 2023
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 493872418

The project uses single cell multiomics and spatially resolved omics technologies to investigate the molecular, cellular and immunological basis of neuroblastoma metastasis in bone marrow. To this end, longitudinally collected patient samples from the HR-NBL2/SIOPEN study will be used. Paired primary and metastatic neuroblastoma cells and microenvironments in bone marrow samples will identify cellular mediators of bone marrow metastasis. Functional assays in 3D models will be used to validate results and develop predictive biomarkers for clinical application.
