Project Details
Apoptosis and survival in response to TRAIL signaling in human B cell homeostasis (A01)
Subject Area
Cell Biology
Term
since 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 471011418
Although TRAIL-induced apoptosis has been reported to be selective for tumor cells, there is increasing evidence that TRAIL initiates downstream signals, including apoptosis, also in primary cells. This project will investigate the cell death-promoting activities of TRAIL in primary human B cells, and will define the subpopulations and developmental stages of B cells, which are resistant or sensitive to TRAIL receptor activation. It will further identify the decision-making processes, which result in differential sensitivity of human B cell populations.
