Project Details
Investigating cell type-specific death-survival decisions imposed by constitutively active RAS signaling (A06)
Subject Area
Cell Biology
Term
since 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 471011418
Apoptosis resistance has been considered as a hallmark of cancer, yet cancer cells are often highly sensitive to apoptosis triggers. In a model of oncogenic RAS-driven juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia (JMML) this project will investigate how mitochondrial priming and signal integration by the BCL-2 hub regulate cell death decisions. To address differences between primary cells versus tumor cells, it will study these processes in conditionally immortalized primary murine myeloid cells, murine leukemia cells and human JMML xenografts.
