Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse

The original purpose of this project could not be carried out - the extensive photometric monitoring observations, both in broad- and narrow-band filters, could not be made as intended with the MONET telescopes due to a long series of unfortunate and totally unexpected technical problems. However, we were able to carry out several similar studies using less complicated astronomical resources. Her photometric and spectroscopic analysis of the system CHS9979 has provided a new and exciting target containing a significant circumstellar disc around a potential close binary, only one of two such systems known or suspected. Now that automatic photometric monitoring with the MONET telescopes has finally become routinely possible, we will be able to follow up on this DFG supported project in a way not possible during the period of support.
