The project has two main objectives: 1) to quantify the monetary and non-monetary effects of parental migration on the long-term outcomes of their foreign-born children, and 2) to analyze the reasons for migration decisions, especially the influence of public goods in the origin and destination countries. The project uses a unique administrative dataset of over 4 million Italian migrants worldwide and aims to provide a better understanding of the intergenerational dimension of migration and the role of public goods in migration decisions. The results are expected to contribute to the design of more effective policies related to labor markets, education, integration, and skilled worker shortages.
