This project focuses on topological field theories in higher dimensions, accessed using methods from higher representation theory and the framework of categorification, with the goal of exploring the geography and the applications of quantum topology beyond the realm of the classical Turaev–Viro, Reshetikhin–Turaev, and Crane–Yetter theories. This will allow us to define new invariants encoding refined information of considerable interest for topology and theoretical physics algebraically.
