Project Details
The reconstruction of relevant topics and situations of activating physical education from the students' perspective (RETHESISaktiv)
Subject Area
General and Domain-Specific Teaching and Learning
Term
since 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 544182044
The proposed project is essentially a replication of the DFG-funded study "RETHESIS - Reconstructing Relevant Topics and Situations in Physical Education from the Student's Perspective" (Miethling & Krieger, 2004). However, the student perspective is now consistently reconstructed in relation to previously systematically determined activating physical education through different interview procedures and with the help of the coding procedures of Grounded Theory. It will be investigated which topics, situational challenges and ways of dealing with them, typical patterns of development and concise moments determine the interpretation of students in an activating physical education class and the subject-related, social and self-referential learning that takes place in it. The expected empirical results allow a comparison with the findings of the RETHESIS study 2004 as well as with the expected effects of an activating physical education, which have so far only been conceptually formulated in the discourse on sports didactics.
