Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse

Supramolecular pseudopolyrotaxanes were constructed by inclusion-complex formation between NIPAAM-containing copolymers and CB[6]. The interactions between the copolymers and CB[6] have been studied by LCST. Through the threading of CB the hydrophobic hexamethylene units of the polymer side chains were shielded and the solubility of the resulting supramolecular structures was increased slightly in water. CB[6]-complexed pseudopolyrotaxanes have higher LCST values and higher thermal stability than pure NIPAAM copolymers. A cyclodextrin-cucurbit[6]uril (CD-click-CB) combi-receptor was also synthesized via copper catalyzed Huisgen 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition. Dynamic light scattering and turbidity measurement were performed after complexing an adamantane-containing copolymer with the synthesized heterodimer. The CD-click-CB compound could be valuable not only as a molecular receptor, due its dual complexing ability, but can also control the shrinkage of polymer networks by supramolecular interactions. Polymerizable monomethacrylate cyclodextrins were synthesized via the microwaveassisted Cu-catalysed "click reaction", under complete structural control. Supramolecular CD containing copolymers were constructed by copolymerization between NIPAAM and CD monomer obtained after click reaction. The supramolecular structures containing CD units showed increased LCST due to higher water solubility. The resulting copolymers with a significant content of covalently attached cyclodextrins have potential applications in supramolecular chemistry, drug delivery and analytics.
