Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse
We have performed a detailed and reliable design study for the magnetic shield for the nEDM experiment including external compensation coils. The study comprised magnetic shielding studies, the development of programmes to calculate field distributions and attenuation factors as well as mechanical design, which has been an important task considering the size of the field cage. The project had seen a shift in work program owing to the non‐availability of the ready‐made shield from Russia which was foreseen to be subject to a number of experimental tests. Instead the work resulted in a new design for the nEDM shielding with valid offers from companies so it can now be realized.
