Our project will address the following more general physical questions: In which way are many-particle concepts reflected at the level of small samples of atoms? Can Bose condensates be used to control the properties of a small number of impurity atoms? Can we deterministically create a single molecule? Specific Projects for this period: Systematic study of the Rb-Cs interaction and determination of the s-wave scattering length; Search for Feshbach resonances; Observation of the formation of RbCs molecules; Implantation and observation of a small number of Cs atoms into a Rb condensate. Longterm goal: Deterministic creation of a single RbCs molecule.
