Technology represents an important medium for socio-environmental interactions, especially within transformative phases. Its introduction or establishment/implementation can be seen either as a response to, a trigger for, or a direct cause of societal or environmental changes. In any case, changes in the use of technology are a good indicator for transformative processes. The subproject questions the role technological change plays in transformations.
