Measuring and flight testing in adverse environment is a typical problem of airborne measurements. The essential task in this collaborative research centre is the increase in precision of in-flight measuring by improving the on-board measuring equipment and measuring methods.Beside the improvement of single sensors the quality of measurements is to be derived through the modelling of the sensor systems dynamic behaviour. The joining idea is based on the axiom, that error characteristics of sensors can be modelled and eliminated subsequently.In case of complete knowledge of the error models in principle a precise measuring is in reach. Apart from the use of simulation tools the proof of the realizability of the theoretical methods and models were performed under realistic conditions in flight tests.
