The project "Recitations and musical settings of literature - research requirements for in-depth indexing of anthological sound recording materials", offers access to sound recordings with significant metadata for research purposes by enriching and creating metadata and by digitization of the records. The corpus includes unique sources such as the sound recordings of the Tucholsky Archive, the Silcher Archive and the estates of Mascha Kaléko and Karl Mickel. The aim is to index 15,000 units (5,000 audio carriers and 10,000 additional catalogue records for individual tracks) with descriptive and subject indexing and to make up to 1,000 media units available digitally. Utilizing authority files is of great relevance here; in addition to using standardized metadata for persons and corporate bodies, the recitations and musical settings are linked to the authority record for the literary work which was adapted. The musical settings are additionally linked to the musical work. The indexing results as well as the digitized material will be presented in a user-friendly way and made available to the public in open access. What is more, access to the sound recordings stored in the DLA Marbach will be created, secured with metadata and responding to the needs of the growing research field of "literature and audio culture". The data of the corpus will be made freely available for data analyses and research.
