The combined experimental- and simulation-based studies of electrical resistance-based non-destructive characterization methods are further extended, to characterize forming- and fatigue loading-induced damage. The experimental focus is on the quantification of microstructure induced changes in resistance. Through multiscale modeling, the factors affecting the measurement of resistance are investigated, such as current-induced heating and intrinsic anisotropy of damage. As a result, valuable insights into electro-mechanical coupling, highly-sensitive measurement methodologies, and the intricate inter- play of various factors that affect the accuracy of non-destructive damage characterization are gained.
